Sigh, I too wish for a world where terrorists are so simple that not publishing your address keeps you safe. Obfuscation != Security.

Cryptome's eyeball - Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station

Try new Google's satellite maps:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.814625,-74.205587&spn=0.005869,0.009291&t=k&hl=en
Using the internet to locate power plants is pretty lame and easy to do. I'm sure anyone with a basic, and I do mean basic, understanding of internet search procedures could do this. BTW, thanks for drawing attention to Oyster Creek, I live down the road from it.

Palo Verde; the largest nuclear generating plant in the US....
Using maps.google.com's new satellite mapping feature (click satellite after you orientate yourself using "Waretown, NJ" on their regular map), I found an even better picture of said plant. It's ridiculous to think that a terrorist wouldn't be able to do such a thing. I mean, they don't have the internet, right?

FYI, you can see an even higher-res version of this same satellite photo on Google's new satellite maps:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.814850,-74.206628&spn=0.011673,0.016394&t=k&hl=en
here's a nice big color image, via google maps new satellite funciton.

The US government could command Google to provide data about who made a search for the nuclear power plants.
Sure they could. But they'd have a hard time compelling data on everyone who searched for the city surrounding a plant. And even then, it's not that hard to spend ten minutes using a public terminal or publically available wi-fi hotspots.
Ever heard of the NASA World Wind? This is a nice free service of NASA with 3D satellite images worldwide. Very cool! Read my blog topic http://www.wallies.info/blog/item/24/
